The Wettey and Donkor families have appealed to the public and the media to grant them privacy as they mourn the loss of their sons following the tragic microlight aircraft crash at Tema Community 1.
In a statement issued on Saturday, March 21, the families described the period as an extremely difficult time and called for understanding as they deal with the painful loss.
“As we go through this challenging moment, we humbly appeal to the public, the media, and all well-wishers to kindly grant our families the space and privacy to grieve,” the statement said.

The families confirmed the passing of Captain Frank Amoanyi Donkor and Elijah Ofori Donkor, who died after the crash on March 16, 2026, describing them as “bright lights” full of promise, warmth and life.
They also expressed appreciation to state agencies, including the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, the Ghana National Fire Service, and the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIB Ghana), for their swift response and professionalism.
The families further thanked Ghanaians for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, noting that details of the final funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
