The Government of Ghana has announced that a state burial will be held for the eight individuals who lost their lives in the recent helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.
The solemn ceremony is set for Friday, August 15, 2025, beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m. at the Black Star Square.
It will serve as a national moment of mourning and reflection on the lives and service of the victims, who died while undertaking duties in the interest of the nation.

The victims—described by government officials as national heroes—perished in the line of duty, and their loss has been met with widespread grief across the country. The state burial will bring together top government officials, members of the armed forces, dignitaries, and citizens from all walks of life to honour their sacrifice.
The government has assured the families of the departed that their loved ones’ service will be remembered with dignity, and their legacy will be upheld in the nation’s history.
