In his final New Year message on December 31, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo lauded Ghana’s remarkable economic recovery, underscoring key growth indicators as a testament to the nation’s resilience.
The President revealed that Ghana recorded a significant 7.2% growth rate in the third quarter of 2024, with an annual growth projection of 6.8%.
He attributed this achievement to the determination of Ghanaians and the strategic policies implemented by his administration.
“These achievements are not just numbers,” Akufo-Addo emphasized. “They represent lives changed and brighter futures ahead. While we have faced difficulties, the road has not always been easy, and there have been moments of sacrifice.”
Reflecting on the challenges of his tenure, the President highlighted the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as a defining chapter for the country. Despite the hardships, he commended the unity and perseverance of the Ghanaian people in navigating these trying times.
“The post-COVID-19 years have tested us, but they’ve also shown us our true character—a people who rise together, no matter the challenges,” he noted.
As his time in office concludes, President Akufo-Addo encouraged citizens to approach 2025 with optimism and collective resolve.
He called on Ghanaians to sustain the momentum of progress and continue striving for greater achievements.
“As we step into 2025, let us hold on to the hope that has sustained us. Together, there is no challenge we cannot overcome and no goal we cannot achieve,” he concluded.
The President’s heartfelt address serves as both a celebration of Ghana’s economic milestones and a rallying cry for unity and progress in the years to come.
