A majority of Ghanaians believe the country is headed in the right direction, according to a new national tracking poll released by Global InfoAnalytics, signalling sustained public confidence in governance under President John Dramani Mahama.
The poll, conducted between December 1 and December 21, 2025, shows that 66% of voters believe Ghana is moving in the right direction, compared with 24% who say it is headed in the wrong direction. About 10% of respondents expressed no opinion. The findings indicate that voters in all 16 regions share the view that the country is on the right path.
On presidential performance, the survey shows President Mahama’s job approval rating remains unchanged at 67% from the previous quarter, while disapproval rose marginally to 24%. Approval for the president cuts across all regions, including areas considered strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

However, sharp partisan differences persist. While 93% of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters approve of the President’s performance, only 28% of NPP supporters share that view, with 61% of NPP voters disapproving. Among floating voters, 69% approve of the President’s job performance.
The poll, titled National Tracking Poll: Governance and Performance – Part One, was presented on December 29, 2025, by Global InfoAnalytics Executive Director Mussa K. Dankwah. It was conducted using a mix of web, telephone and face-to-face interviews, covering 13,495 respondents across 83 constituencies, with a confidence level of 99% and a margin of error of ±1.1%.
