President John Dramani Mahama has appointed 18 individuals as Deputy Heads of Mission to represent Ghana across various diplomatic missions worldwide.
The list features high-profile personalities, including former Chief of Defence Staff, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, and former presidential spokesperson, Mr Ben Dotsei Malor.
The appointments were communicated in a letter dated September 11, 2025, and signed by Dr Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. The letter instructed the ministry to initiate the necessary processes for the deployment of the appointed officials.

Under the new postings, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah will serve as Deputy Head of Mission to Canada, while Mr Ben Dotsei Malor, who served as presidential spokesperson during Mahama’s previous administration, has been assigned to Washington, D.C., in the United States.
Other key appointments include:
- Dr Palmer Appiah-Gyan – Federal Republic of Germany
- Dr Harry Zevon – People’s Republic of China
- Mr Aquinas Quansah – United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- Mrs Francisca Patoah Gyarko – Swiss Federation
- Mr Sulemana Ibun Iddrissu – Republic of India
- Mr George Harrison – Republic of Korea
In the Middle East and Gulf region, Mrs Jamilatu Amadu has been appointed to the United Arab Emirates, Mr Sanni Jajah to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
For European postings, Mr Emmanuel Netsey-Afedo will serve in the Netherlands, Mrs Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku in the Italian Republic, Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor in Türkiye, Mr Emmanuel Kamban Panyan in the Russian Federation, and Rev. Dr Isaac Clive Mould in the Kingdom of Denmark.
In Africa and Asia, Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Issah Abah has been appointed to the Republic of South Africa, while Mr Francis Thalamus Doe will serve in Japan.
The appointments are part of the government’s efforts to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic presence and enhance bilateral relations globally. The newly appointed Deputy Heads of Mission are expected to support Ghana’s ambassadors and high commissioners in promoting the country’s interests abroad.
