Ex-GIHOC Boss Maxwell Kofi Jumah Granted Ghc500k Bail Over Alleged Vehicle Theft

Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been granted bail in the sum of GHS500,000 with two sureties, following his arrest over the alleged theft of vehicles belonging to the state-owned beverage company.

The bail was granted on Monday, June 30, after Mr Jumah appeared at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters, where he had been in police custody since his arrest on Sunday.

The Ghana Police Service, through Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor, confirmed the arrest during a press briefing. She said the police acted on a formal petition submitted by GIHOC Distilleries, accusing Mr Jumah of unlawfully taking company vehicles after leaving office.

“As of this afternoon, we have recovered three of the vehicles linked to the complaint. The investigation is active, and we will take appropriate steps based on the evidence gathered,” she added.
