A driver sustained serious injuries after a Howo Tipper Truck (GN 9147-17) veered off the road and crashed into a tree at Adelekope on the Tema–Akosombo Highway on Monday, September 15, 2025.
According to a statement from the Eastern Regional Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Kpong Fire Station received a distress call at 6:21 a.m. and swiftly dispatched a rescue team at 6:23 a.m. The crew arrived at the scene by 6:32 a.m.

The GNFS team found the driver trapped in the mangled truck. Using extrication tools, rescuers successfully freed him and handed him over to the National Ambulance Service, who transported him to the Akuse Government Hospital for treatment.
The crash scene was fully cleared at 8:55 a.m., and the crew returned safely to base at 9:06 a.m.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing.
Authorities have reminded motorists plying the Tema–Akosombo Highway to exercise caution and adhere to road safety regulations.
