Church of Pentecost Mpoasei District to Feed Over 3,000 Street Children in Landmark Outreach

The Church of Pentecost, Mpoasei District in the Dansoman Area, is preparing to undertake a major humanitarian outreach aimed at feeding more than 3,000 street children within its surrounding communities.

The initiative forms part of the church’s commitment to social responsibility and compassionate ministry to the poor and vulnerable. Building on the success of last year’s exercise, during which over 2,000 street children were fed, the district has scaled up the programme to reach an even greater number this year.

The feeding outreach is a key component of the long-term vision of the Mpoasei District Pastor, John Gilbert Ayamah, who has consistently championed practical expressions of Christian love as a pathway to community transformation.

According to the church, Pastor Ayamah is deeply committed to seeing the initiative executed wholeheartedly, ensuring that it touches lives beyond the church walls.

The programme is scheduled to take place on Monday, December 20, 2025, at the Mpoasei Yellow House, on the forecourt of the church premises. Organisers say the venue has been selected to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for the children.

Church leaders believe the act of feeding the children goes beyond charity, describing it as an extension of soul-winning and obedience to Scripture. They referenced Matthew 25:35, which says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”

In the spirit of unity and shared compassion, the church has also encouraged parents and guardians to bring their children along to dine together with the street children, fostering a sense of love, equality and fellowship.

The Mpoasei District’s initiative underscores the Church of Pentecost’s broader mission of impacting society through faith in action, demonstrating that care for the needy remains central to its ministry and witness in the community.
