The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC), under the leadership of Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene, has issued fresh directives to guide government institutions and essential workers during the funeral and burial rites of the late Asantehemaa, mother of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The announcement, made on behalf of the Manhyia Palace, underscores the importance of order, discipline, and cultural sensitivity as the Ashanti Kingdom prepares to bid farewell to its revered queen mother.
According to the statement, all essential government workers must appear in their official service uniforms and carry valid identification cards while on duty. The measure, the ARCC explained, is designed to help security agencies easily identify exempted personnel during the period of restricted movement.

The Minister further directed that, where possible, essential workers should commute to and from their duty stations using official government vehicles. This, officials noted, would ensure smooth coordination and limit unnecessary congestion on roads expected to experience heavy traffic during the funeral observances.
Dr Amoakohene appealed to exempted institutions and essential staff to fully comply with security officers and regulatory agencies who will be deployed to enforce movement restrictions.
“The ARCC appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders in ensuring a smooth and dignified observance of the funeral and burial arrangements of the late Asantehemaa,” the statement read.
