Akosua Manu Urges Government to Reinstate ORAL to Demonstrate Anti-Corruption Commitment
An aide to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Akosua Manu, has called on the government to reinstate the anti-corruption initiative, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), insisting that doing so would signal genuine commitment to transparency and accountability.
Her remarks come amid public debate over the auditor-general’s report on government arrears and payables, which flagged concerns over the management of billions of cedis in contractor and supplier claims.
Speaking on The Big Issue on Channel On TV, she stressed that the government’s narrative of a “reset” must be matched with tangible actions to strengthen oversight in public institutions. TV show streaming

“Let us continue to date. Let us not end it. The reset they promised. The transparency, accountability and moving Ghana forward. Bring back ORAL so that we know that you are actually committed to the fight against corruption, that you are committed to making Ghana better, and that you are committed to fighting the processes that keep on impeding our development and making us lose money at the various ministries and agencies,” she said.
Drawing comparisons with the NPP, she added: “When you draw parallels with the NPP, there is a clear line. The moment you say ‘reset’, it means accountability is going to start with you because you created that principle and that perception. Even when we go back, ultimate responsibility starts with you.”
Akosua Manu argued that reviving initiatives such as ORAL would reassure Ghanaians that the government remains committed to tackling financial mismanagement across ministries and agencies.
