Agradaa Case: Court Directs Parties To Submit Plea Bargain Details

The Accra High Court has directed all parties involved in the trial of evangelist and former fetish priestess Patricia Asieduaa, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, to file the terms of a proposed plea bargain ahead of the next court sitting.

Delivering the order on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the Court instructed that the documents be submitted no less than three clear days before December 16, when the case is expected to resume.

Counsel for Nana Agradaa informed the Court that discussions with the Office of the Attorney-General were “far advanced”, with both the prosecution and the complainant actively engaged in the negotiations. The complainant, Pastor Emmanuel Appiah Fumum (Osofo Biblical), was present in court as the update was provided.

The prosecutor confirmed that the complainant had been part of the ongoing dialogue and did not oppose the defence’s request for a short adjournment to finalise the plea bargain process.

Earlier in the proceedings, prosecutors signalled their intention to apply for a bench warrant for the second accused, citing non-appearance.
However, defence counsel countered that they had not been properly served with a hearing notice.

The judge expressed concern and instructed the Court Registry to ensure that proper service is carried out before the next hearing to avoid further procedural delays.

Background

The case stems from allegations that Nana Agradaa broadcast nude images of Pastor Appiah Fumum on her television station and social media platforms without his consent.

According to the prosecution, the images were aired during a live studio programme, during which panellists made disparaging remarks about the complainant. This act, prosecutors argue, violates the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), which prohibits the non-consensual sharing of intimate images—an offence commonly known as “revenge porn”.

Nana Agradaa is already serving a 15-year prison sentence in a separate fraud case involving defrauding by false pretence.

Lawyers for Agradaa further raised concerns about recent media interviews granted by the complainant. In these interviews, Pastor Appiah Fumum reportedly claimed that Agradaa’s physical and emotional state had deteriorated significantly since her imprisonment.

The presiding judge urged the prosecution to educate the complainant on refraining from such public commentary, stressing that ongoing media discussions could have implications on the trial.
