The Attorney General (AG) and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, have filed a nolle prosequi to discontinue the case against individuals associated with the Democracy Hub protests.
In the notice of abandonment, Dr. Ayine stated that the state no longer intends to pursue the case against the accused individuals.
The individuals include social activists Oliver Barker-Vormawor, Felicity Nelson, and social media influencer Elorm Ama Governor-Ababio, also known as Ama Governor.

Others affected are Michael Amofa, Nii Ayi, Frederick Boateng, deportee Iddrisu Yusif, Wendell Isaac Yeboah, Fanny Otoo, and Samuel Samakor.
A total of 53 protesters were arrested during the three-day protest, which took place from September 21 to September 23. The protesters had demanded greater government action against illegal mining (galamsey) and were arrested and charged with unlawful assembly after they blocked roads, dismantled police barriers, obstructed traffic, and set fire to properties at Accra’s 37 Roundabout.
The charges against the group sparked widespread public debate, with many Ghanaians and civil society organisations calling for their release.
