The highly anticipated election, held on Monday, February 17, 2025, saw Obimpeh emerge as the clear choice among the contenders, leading by a significant margin. Out of the expected 86 votes, a total of 85 valid ballots were cast, with no rejected votes, highlighting a smooth electoral process following the disruption that led to the suspension of the initial election last week.

Obimpeh’s victory marks a strong show of confidence from the electorate in the Ashanti Region, reinforcing his influence and leadership within the political landscape. His election follows the chaotic scenes that marred the previous attempt, underscoring the significance of a peaceful and transparent conclusion to the process.

As a member of the Council of State, Yaw Owusu Obimpeh is expected to play a crucial advisory role in governance, particularly in shaping key decisions affecting both the Ashanti Region and the country at large.
