“With Faith, We Shall Reset Our Nation”—Mahama Declares Fresh Start for Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged a new era of governance and economic recovery for Ghana, describing his administration as an opportunity for a fresh start after years of hardship.

Speaking at his swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2025, President Mahama acknowledged the struggles faced by Ghanaians in recent years while assuring them of renewed hope under his leadership.

“In the last few years, we have moved from crisis to crisis, but there is hope on the horizon. Today should mark the beginning of a new opportunity—an opportunity for us to make a difference in our governance and economic management,” he said.

President Mahama highlighted the need for collective faith and trust in the country’s leadership to achieve this vision.

“With faith, you believe in what you know, and that is why we need faith to achieve our reset. We need this reset with the faith we have in our country and our leadership,” he said, urging Ghanaians to come together for the nation’s progress.

The President assured citizens that his government would focus on policies to alleviate their burdens. He reaffirmed his campaign promise to “reset Ghana” through transformative initiatives, including his proposal for a 24-hour economy to drive growth and productivity.

Accompanied by his experienced vice president, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Mahama emphasised that their leadership would prioritise inclusivity, economic reforms, and development programs aimed at creating opportunities for all Ghanaians.

“This is an opportunity for a new governance,” Mahama declared. “We shall reset our dear nation, Ghana.”
