Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has issued a strong warning to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), vowing to hold the government accountable for every promise made during the 2024 election campaign.
Speaking during the debate on President John Dramani Mahama’s second batch of ministerial nominees on Tuesday, January 21, Afenyo-Markin emphasised that the minority would closely monitor the government’s actions and ensure transparency.
“We will hold your feet to the fire. You think you campaigned and got it handed to you on a silver platter? You will see. You call us a micro-minority, but you will see,” Afenyo-Markin declared, underlining the minority’s commitment to scrutinising the government’s performance and keeping it in check.
The minority leader expressed doubts about the NDC’s ability to fulfil its electoral promises, warning that Ghanaians would soon realise the ruling party’s true intentions.
He also reaffirmed the minority’s commitment to tracking the government’s actions and holding it responsible for meeting the high expectations set during the campaign.
“We will follow through on every single promise you made while on the campaign platform,” Afenyo-Markin added, signalling a tough political road ahead for the NDC.
