Reinette Wessels, Chief HR Officer of Vivo Energy, highlighted the company’s key focus areas, emphasising mathematics, science, and engineering as primary fields.
However, she noted that the initiative also extends to other functions, including human resources, to create more opportunities for women.
“Our goal is to bring women with distinguished qualifications into the industry. Globally, only about 23% of women are engaged in these sectors, but it is time to increase female participation in finance, technology, engineering, supply, and distribution. This will ensure women are empowered and represented across all key areas,” she stated.
Wessels further outlined Vivo Energy’s ambitious targets for female representation.
She expressed the company’s commitment to achieving 40% female employees globally by the end of 2026. Currently, the company stands at 34.5% and continues to drive initiatives to increase this number.
“In addition, for professional and skilled labour roles, we aim to reach 45% female representation. We are currently at almost 43% and are making steady progress,” she added.
Through the She Power project and other strategic initiatives, Vivo Energy remains dedicated to fostering an inclusive work environment, empowering women, and creating equal opportunities within the energy sector.
