In a bold message aimed at challenging societal pressures, the Mpoasei District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost–Dansoman Area, John Gilbert Ayamah, has urged single women in their 30s not to succumb to the idea that they are “expired” simply because they have not yet married.

Speaking at the District Youth Singles Conference held over the weekend under the theme “Singles Waiting for God’s Appointed Time,” Pastor Ayamah addressed what he described as a growing panic among single women to marry as they enter their 30s.

“Your age does not define your worth or God’s timing,” he told the congregation. “Reaching your 30s does not mean you’ve expired. That’s a lie society has sold to you.”

According to the pastor, many women are rushing into marriage out of fear rather than faith, pressured by a culture that often stigmatises older single women.

He described marriage not as a deadline to meet, but as a divine gift that should arrive in its own time.

“Marriage is not a trophy for beating the biological clock. It is a sacred covenant given by God in His own perfect time,” Pastor Ayamah emphasised, encouraging the youth to seek purpose, not pressure.

His message resonated strongly with the audience, particularly women who often feel burdened by cultural expectations. He reminded them that age is “just a number” and urged all singles to focus on personal growth, spiritual development, and complete trust in God’s timing.

Supporting the pastor’s message, Deaconess Priscilla Ekpale, Women’s Leader for the Dansoman Area, also called on the youth to pursue righteousness while waiting on God.

“At the appointed time, God will do it—and do it swiftly,” she said, quoting scripture to reinforce the idea that divine timing is always perfect.

The conference, which brought together youth from various locals within the distruct, was aimed at reshaping conversations around singleness, purpose, and faith. It also featured breakout sessions and testimonies from individuals who found love and fulfilment without rushing the process.
