VIDEO: Enforce Jail Term of Sedina Tamakloe Before Pursuing Adu-Boahene Case- Akim Oda MP to Dominic Ayine
The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda and former Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has urged Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine to prioritise enforcing the jail sentence of former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu rather than focusing on the financial misappropriation case involving Kwabena Adu-Boahene.
Speaking on Ekosiisen on Asempa FM, Hon. Acquah accused the Attorney General of selectively pursuing cases while allowing high-profile convicts like Tamakloe-Attionu to evade justice.
The former CEO of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, was sentenced to 10 years in prison with hard labour by the Supreme Court after being found guilty of misappropriating over GH₵70 million in state funds.

Her trial, which began in 2019, included six state witnesses and was conducted in absentia after she failed to return to Ghana following court-approved medical treatment abroad. Daniel Axim, another suspect in the case, was present for the trial but did not call any witnesses in his defence.
The convictions stem from financial irregularities at MASLOC between 2013 and 2016. One major instance involved the withdrawal of GH₵500,000 as a loan from Obaatampa Savings and Loans Company. When the financial institution refused to provide a 24% interest rate, the money was refunded—but investigators found no record of it in MASLOC’s official accounts.
Hon. Acquah’s remarks come in response to Attorney General Dr Dominic Ayine’s latest disclosure regarding the arrest of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB).
Adu-Boahene is accused of misappropriating funds from a $7 million cyber defence contract intended to bolster Ghana’s cybersecurity infrastructure. Instead, he allegedly diverted the money into personal businesses and real estate investments, both in Ghana and overseas.
Authorities have since uncovered suspicious bank transactions, including a GH₵27.1 million transfer from the NSB’s Fidelity Bank account into a private company account owned by Adu-Boahene and his wife.
The Attorney General has vowed to prosecute all individuals involved, emphasising the government’s commitment to tackling financial corruption.
Hon. Acquah criticised Dr. Ayine’s approach, accusing him of selectively targeting cases while neglecting to ensure that Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu serves her sentence.
“If they are serious about fighting corruption, why hasn’t the Attorney General ensured that Sedina Tamakloe is brought back to Ghana to serve her sentence? Instead, they are busy making noise about Adu-Boahene,” he remarked.
He called on the Attorney General to focus on enforcing all corruption-related convictions, rather than what he termed as “picking and choosing” cases to prosecute.
As the debate over corruption prosecutions intensifies, the public awaits further developments on both the Adu-Boahene and MASLOC cases.
