Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle Appointed Acting CEO of Petroleum Commission

President John Mahama has appointed legal practitioner Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle as the acting chief executive officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Commission.

The appointment, effective Friday, January 17, 2025, was made in line with Article 195 (1) of the Constitution and Section 11 (1) of the Petroleum Commission Act, 2011 (Act 821).

According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the President, the appointment is subject to the constitutionally required advice from the Board of the Commission, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

Victoria Hardcastle brings extensive experience in the energy sector to her new role, having previously served on the Board of the Petroleum Commission. She has also worked as Deputy Head of the Economic Section and Economic Trade Attaché at the Swiss Embassy.

Her professional background includes a stint with Hogan Lovells, UK, under the International Lawyers for Africa program, further enriching her expertise in legal and economic matters related to the petroleum industry.
