Threats Are a Daily Feature, But We Remain Resolute—Okudzeto Ablakwa on ORAL’s Anti-Corruption Drive
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, chairman of the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative, has revealed that threats against him have become a routine occurrence as he leads efforts to recover stolen state assets.
“Threats have become a daily feature, but we have tough skin, and we know the Good Lord will protect us,” Mr. Ablakwa said during an interview on Joy News’ PM Express on January 13.
Despite facing propaganda and attempts to undermine his efforts, Mr. Ablakwa affirmed the committee’s commitment to combating corruption and recovering assets allegedly misappropriated under the former Akufo-Addo administration. “We remain unaffected; we are resolute and focused,” he declared.
The initiative, launched by the NDC government, seeks to investigate and reclaim state assets, including lands, revenues, vehicles, and questionable contracts. While the opposition NPP questions its legal basis, ORAL continues its investigations, promising accountability and justice.
