Sports Minister Kofi Adams Meets GFA Leadership to Discuss Football Development

Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, met with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council and Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen at the Ministry in Accra.

The meeting served as a formal introduction of the GFA leadership to the minister and an opportunity to discuss the development of Ghanaian football.

Hon. Kofi Adams congratulated GFA President Kurt Okraku on his election to the CAF Executive Committee and urged him to use his position to benefit Ghana football. He emphasised the need to revive local leagues, improve grassroots football, and ensure effective management of the sport.

The minister assured the GFA of his commitment to collaborate and provide support for football development.

In response, Mr Okraku reaffirmed the GFA’s commitment to working closely with the government to improve football structures and restore the sport’s glory. He also presented documents outlining strategies to address football challenges.

The meeting was attended by GFA Vice President Mark Addo, General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, and several Executive Council and RFA members, including Nana Oduro Sarfo, Eugene Noel Nobel, Samuel Aboabire, Patrick Akoto, and Neil Armstrong Mortagbe.

The discussions set the stage for stronger government-GFA collaboration to enhance football development in Ghana.
