The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has affirmed that he declared his assets a day after assuming office, in full compliance with constitutional requirements.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Super Morning Show on Wednesday, February 19, Prof. Gyampo stated, “I think it was the very day or the day after; I was in the office.”
He revealed that he initially asked his legal associate, Martin Kpebu, to obtain the necessary form on his behalf. However, due to delays, he took personal steps to acquire and complete the form himself. After submission, he was issued a receipt by an official from the Auditor-General’s office.

“As a teacher, I have declared the little that I have,” he noted, emphasising his commitment to transparency and accountability.
Prof. Gyampo urged all public officeholders to adhere to asset declaration requirements, stating, “The right thing to do is to abide by what the law says, so I just did it, and all others must do the same.”
His appointment by President John Mahama marks a transition from academia, where he previously lectured at the University of Ghana, to public administration.
Meanwhile, President Mahama has mandated all public officials to declare their assets by the end of the first quarter of the year as part of his broader anti-corruption agenda.
