Processes to arrest Ntim Fordjour are almost complete – NDC South Africa chairman
Benjamin Kofi Quashie, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) South Africa branch, has confirmed that processes are nearly complete for the arrest of Rev. Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Asin South.
This development follows recent allegations made by the MP regarding the involvement of aircraft in illicit activities, including cocaine trafficking and money laundering.
In an interview on JoyPrime’s News Flash on Monday, Quashie expressed confidence that the legal processes to detain Fordjour were nearly finalised. “I can confidently say that the processes (to arrest him) are almost complete,” Quashie stated.

He also noted that the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, whose involvement is crucial in the process, is currently out of the country. However, Quashie remains optimistic that upon Bagbin’s return, the arrest will be swiftly carried out.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour, who also serves as the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, had earlier stirred controversy after alleging that some aircraft had landed in Ghana, purportedly to engage in money laundering and drug trafficking activities. Fordjour’s claims were made public during a press conference and have sparked widespread political discourse.
The accusations have drawn significant attention, particularly within political circles, with many questioning the veracity of Fordjour’s statements. The government has since denied the allegations, offering an explanation regarding the legitimate purpose of the aircraft’s visit to the country.
Fordjour now faces mounting pressure to substantiate his claims with concrete evidence. Despite this, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), his political party, has expressed support for his allegations, urging the government to launch a thorough investigation.
The situation remains fluid, with many awaiting further developments in the coming days. Fordjour’s fate and the broader implications of his claims continue to capture the public’s attention as both political and legal avenues unfold.
