President John Dramani Mahama is expected to unveil the long-awaited list of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for Ghana by the close of business on Friday, January 31.
This assurance came from Anthony Nukpenu, the Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), during an interview on the Citi Breakfast Show on Monday, January 27.
According to Mr. Nukpenu, the Greater Accra Region is finalising its vetting process and will soon submit its recommendations to the presidency.

“Some regions completed the vetting process last week,” he noted. “We are finalising ours today, and by this evening or early tomorrow morning, we should be forwarding our list to the appropriate office.”
He expressed confidence in the efficiency of the process, urging all involved to expedite their efforts to meet the timeline.
“We hope the local government minister and the team set up by the president to finalise it will expedite their review and make the right recommendations to the president for his announcement,” Mr. Nukpenu added.
