Parliament has approved GHS 3.2 billion for the Ministry of Roads and Highways for the 2025 fiscal year.
The Ghana Highway Authority, under the ministry, will recruit 137 staff to address manpower shortages following the creation of new regions and the establishment of regional offices.
The ministry is also expected to dualise and enhance safety on major trunk roads nationwide. Additionally, work will continue on the Accra-Kumasi Highway bypasses at Osino, Anyinam, Enyiresi, and Konongo to ease traffic congestion and improve travel time.
