Norwich City Sign Ghana’s Jeffrey Schlupp on Free Transfer

English Championship side Norwich City have officially signed Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp on a free transfer following his exit from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.

The experienced 32-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal with the Canaries and will don the number 27 shirt for the 2025/26 season.

Speaking after his unveiling, Schlupp expressed enthusiasm about the move and the opportunity to contribute to Norwich’s promotion ambitions.

“I’m really excited; it’s something new again, but a lot to look forward to back in the Championship at a big club,” Schlupp said. “I’ve spoken to the head coach about the plan for this year, and I am excited to be involved. I’m looking forward to meeting all the players, and hopefully we can create something special this year.”

Norwich City’s sporting director Ben Knapper hailed the acquisition, highlighting Schlupp’s vast experience and the impact he is expected to make both on and off the pitch.

“Jeffrey’s career so far speaks for itself, and we’re delighted to welcome him and his family to Norwich City. He is a player of immense experience, having played at the highest levels both domestically and internationally for many years,” Knapper said.

“His quality, versatility and character will all be great assets for us, and he will serve as a fantastic reference point for our younger players, in particular this season. He will provide competition and depth across multiple positions, and we’re all really happy to have him as part of the group.”

Schlupp began his career with Leicester City, where he progressed through the youth system and made over 150 senior appearances. He played a key role in the club’s remarkable Premier League title triumph in the 2015/16 season.

He moved to Crystal Palace in January 2017, spending eight years with the London club. During his time at Selhurst Park, Schlupp became a reliable and versatile figure, operating across midfield and defence.

Last season, he enjoyed a brief loan stint at Scottish giants Celtic, where he added another league title to his career honours.
