National Education Forum Begins Today

The much-anticipated National Education Forum kicks off today, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with a series of zonal meetings set to take place across the country.

The forum, aimed at fostering inclusive dialogue on Ghana’s education sector, will culminate in a two-day validation conference in Accra from February 27 to 28.

The first zonal engagement starts in Ho, Volta Region, covering both the Volta and Oti Regions. The forum’s eight-member planning committee has structured engagements into three zones—northern, middle, and southern—to facilitate broad consultations.

  • February 21: Greater Accra and Eastern Regions (Accra) | Western and Central Regions (Cape Coast)
  • February 24: Upper East & North East Regions (Bolgatanga) | Western North, Bono, Ahafo & Bono East Regions (Sunyani)
  • February 25: Upper West, Savannah & Northern Regions (Tamale)
  • February 26: Ashanti Region (Kumasi)
  • February 27-28: Final Validation Conference (University of Professional Studies, Accra—UPSA))

The forum provides a platform for stakeholders, including educationists, policymakers, civil society, and regional representatives, to discuss, refine, and validate key policies shaping Ghana’s education future.

The final validation workshop in Accra is expected to consolidate insights and recommendations gathered from the regional discussions, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive education reform agenda for the country.
