NACOC Urges MP Ntim Fordjour to Cooperate in Probe Over Alleged “Suspicious Flights”

The Deputy Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), Alexander Twum Barimah, has called on the Member of Parliament for Assin South and Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, to fully cooperate with ongoing investigations into allegations of drug and money trafficking via two aircraft that landed in Ghana in March 2025.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News on Tuesday, April 8, Mr Barimah said the Commission remains committed to conducting a thorough and independent investigation and urged the MP to provide any relevant intelligence or documentation that could assist in unearthing the truth.

“I will advise my good friend and brother that he should cooperate with us if he really wants us to get to the root of this matter,” Mr Barimah said.

The NACOC Deputy Director-General stressed that collaboration between public officials and state security agencies is critical to ensuring accountability and bringing any culprits to justice.

“To apprehend or arrest any other person who is involved in his so-called suspicious act, he should cooperate with us, the security agencies, to make sure that we get the appropriate or required information and act on it,” he added.

Mr Barimah’s comments follow recent allegations by Rev. Fordjour that two aircraft—an AirMed air ambulance and a Cavok Air Antonov cargo plane—were allegedly used to traffic cocaine and large sums of money into the country. The MP based his claim on what he described as “reliable intelligence”.

Government Communications Minister Felix Ofosu Kwakye has since denied the allegations, stating that both aircraft arrived in Ghana for legitimate reasons such as refuelling and technical repairs.

NACOC’s call signals an official interest in the matter and underscores the importance of inter-agency collaboration in resolving national security concerns.

Investigations are ongoing.
