Manhunt for Robbers After Manso Watreso Gold Theft

Police in the Ashanti Region have launched a manhunt for two suspected armed robbers who fled with over 30 pounds of gold, GH¢11,000 in cash, and other valuables during an attack at Manso Watreso in the Amansie South District.

The suspects targeted community mining workers returning home, seizing their valuables and the keys to a pickup truck.

Two of the assailants were apprehended by irate residents and lynched after an alarm was raised. However, their accomplices managed to escape with the stolen items.

Assembly member for the Manso Watreso electoral area, Kofi Mensah, confirmed to Citi News that the police have deposited the bodies of the deceased at the mortuary and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects and recover the stolen items.
