Mahama Sacks Anne Sansa Daly from NHIA Board

President John Dramani Mahama has revoked the appointment of Anne Sansa Daly as a board member of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), according to a directive from the Office of the President.

A letter signed by the President’s Secretary, Callitus Mahama, PhD, confirms the decision and announces the immediate appointment of Prof. Doc. (Med) Ernest Yorke as her replacement.

The letter instructs the Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akando, to promptly oversee the swearing-in of the new board member to ensure continuity in governance and oversight at the NHIA.

While the reasons for the revocation have not been publicly disclosed, the change comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within Ghana’s key health institutions.

Prof. Yorke is expected to bring his medical expertise and administrative experience to the NHIA board as the authority continues its mandate to provide accessible and sustainable health insurance coverage to Ghanaians.
