President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to establishing the leanest and most efficient administration in Ghana’s history, limiting his government to a total of 60 ministers.
This assurance came during the swearing-in ceremony of six newly approved ministers at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 22. So far, the president has named 42 ministers, with 18 more nominees expected to complete the roster.
“As the ministers are approved by Parliament and sworn in, I will proceed to name deputy ministers for some ministries, bringing the total number to 60,” President Mahama explained.
He highlighted the benefits of a streamlined government, underscoring its potential to enhance operational efficiency and improve accountability.
“As I promised the people of Ghana, this will make this government the leanest and most efficient government ever,” he added.
The six ministers sworn into office include:
- Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson – Minister for Finance
- Dr. Dominic Ayine – Attorney General
- John Jinapor – Minister for Energy and Green Transition
- Haruna Iddrisu – Minister for Education
- Eric Opoku – Minister for Food and Agriculture
- Governs Kwame Agbodza—Minister for Roads and Highways
President Mahama assured the public that his administration remains focused on delivering results, driven by a dedicated team and a clear vision for Ghana’s development.
