Ken Ofori Atta is ‘traumatised’ but ready to coorperate- Afenyo Markin
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has confirmed that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta will return to Ghana upon completing his medical treatment abroad.
Addressing Parliament on Thursday, February 13, Afenyo-Markin stated that he had been in contact with Ofori-Atta, who assured him of his willingness to cooperate with any investigations upon his return.
“If there is any case against any former government official, due process must be followed, and I am certain that will bring peace to all,” the minority leader said.

He also reaffirmed the minority’s commitment to working with the government when necessary while maintaining their role as an opposition caucus.
Afenyo-Markin noted that the former minister was deeply troubled by allegations against him.
“As of this morning, Ken Ofori-Atta told me he is distressed by the accusations levelled against him, but he remains steadfast in his faith. He is currently undergoing medical treatment,” he disclosed.
He further revealed that the Chief of Staff had confirmed Ofori-Atta officially informed the government before his departure.
“I am confident that he will return within a reasonable time. If any investigations are required, he will make himself available,” Afenyo-Markin assured.
He added that he would engage with the Office of the Special Prosecutor to address any concerns and ensure Ofori-Atta’s cooperation with ongoing investigations.
