I Was Sacked From School For Doing Music – Kweku Flick Reveals
Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Andy Osei Sarfo, popularly known as Kweku Flick has disclosed that he was forced to leave his first senior high school because of his passion for music.
According to the musician, he initially attended St Hubert Seminary Senior High School in Kumasi, a missionary institution where secular music activities were not allowed.
He explained that his growing involvement in music created tension with school authorities, who felt his activities were influencing other students.

“Teachers in the school felt I was disturbing them, so they decided to give me an indefinite suspension, and they never called, so I had to move to a different school,” he said.
In an exclusive interview with Doris Frimpong Manso (Delay) on Delay’s Show, Kweku Flick revealed that he often visited recording studios after school to work on his music. However, the situation became more complicated when several students from the school began following him to the studio.
According to him, about 10 to 11 students would accompany him during recording sessions and sometimes record videos of themselves while rehearsing.
School authorities reportedly believed the activities were damaging the institution’s image, particularly because he was still a Form One student preparing to move into Form Two.
“I never forced anyone to follow me to the studio, but what I see is it was supposed to happen, and that’s my belief,” he said, reflecting on the experience.
The musician said his parents became concerned about his prolonged stay at home following the suspension and eventually visited the school to understand what had happened.
After learning the reasons behind the decision, they arranged for him to continue his education at another institution.
Kweku Flick later enrolled at Assemblies of God Senior High School, where he completed his secondary education.
The rapper said he had initially planned to fully pursue music after completing senior high school, but his breakthrough came earlier than expected.
According to him, he released his first major hit song, Money, while writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Since the success of the track, Kweku Flick said his music career has continued to grow steadily, marking the beginning of his rise in Ghana’s music industry.
