“I Am Committed to National Service, Not Personal” Gain”—Mahama Reaffirms

President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that his administration is focused on serving the nation with integrity, rather than personal enrichment.

Addressing the clergy on Friday, February 28, 2025, Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his promises and ensuring that his leadership drives Ghana toward progress and prosperity.”I am steadily forming the extended government, ensuring that we have a team that is committed to national service, rather than to personal gain,” he declared.

Mahama emphasised that in just 120 days, his administration has taken bold and strategic actions to set the country on a path to recovery and development.

“Now that he [God] has done that, I stand here today to reaffirm that promise. Already, within the first 120 days of my presidency, we have taken very decisive steps to implement key policies that will steer Ghana toward the progress and prosperity we all seek,” he assured.

As part of his governance strategy, Mahama reiterated his commitment to an efficient administration, keeping his promise to limit the number of ministers to no more than 60.

“One of my first major decisions was to live by example in the area of governance, so I should keep my word. I pledged to appoint not more than 60 ministers and ensure an efficient and effective government, and I have kept that promise,” he noted.

With his cabinet now in place and the process of forming an extended government underway, Mahama reassured Ghanaians that every decision taken is aimed at nation-building, not self-interest.

As his administration moves forward, expectations remain high for policy implementation, economic growth, and governance reforms under his leadership.
