Deputy Minister-Designate for Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah, has stressed the need for advanced technology to streamline the operations of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) while minimising human interference.
Speaking before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, he emphasised that integrating digital solutions into ECG’s billing, metering, and revenue collection systems would enhance efficiency, curb financial losses, and reduce human-related errors.
“I strongly support the view that technology should be employed to at least minimise human interferences in our processes,” Gyan-Mensah stated, adding that automation would help address the long-standing operational challenges faced by ECG.
