GES Revokes Appointments of Unpaid Staff, Orders Immediate Action

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has revoked all appointments for teaching and non-teaching staff who have not yet been placed on the government payroll, following a directive from the Office of the President.

The order, which takes effect immediately, was communicated through a letter dated February 10, 2025, and signed by the Chief of Staff.

In a statement on February 17, 2025, Acting Director-General Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis instructed regional and district directors to enforce the decision without exception.

Affected staff will not be added to the government payroll, rendering their appointments null and void until further notice. GES promised to update the public as the situation evolves.

This action is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline personnel management in the education sector.
