A raging fire that broke out around 1 p.m. in a wooden structure has left several residents devastated after spreading rapidly due to multiple gas cylinder explosions.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly to the scene, battling the inferno that had already consumed much of the area. Thanks to their prompt intervention, the fire was eventually brought under control, but not before significant damage had been done.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been sparked by unattended children playing with fire, highlighting concerns about safety in highly flammable residential areas.

For many residents, the fire has left them with nothing but ashes.
One of the victims, Emissa Monica, shared her distressing experience:
“I have lost everything. All my belongings have been reduced to ashes. I had about GH₵500 in my room, and it’s all gone in the fire,” she lamented.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise extreme caution with fire, especially in densely populated areas where flammable materials and gas cylinders pose an increased risk. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the damage and to provide assistance to affected families.
