Full Cabinet will be unveil within 14 days- Mahama replies Afenyo-Markin

President John Dramani Mahama has assured the public that his full cabinet will be unveiled within the next 14 days, addressing concerns about delays in ministerial appointments.

This announcement comes in response to criticism from Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who described the President’s ministerial selection process as a “tot-tot” approach, implying it was piecemeal and disorganised.

Speaking during a National Muslim Prayer and Thanksgiving service at the National Mosque in Kanda, Accra, on January 10, President Mahama called for patience and urged supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to act responsibly during the transition.

“Government is being formed, ministers will be put in place, and other officials will be appointed. And as I said, we will have our full cabinet in 14 days,” Mahama said.

President Mahama emphasised the importance of maintaining order and avoiding the missteps of the previous government.

“If you have any issues, you consult any of the ministers and have it resolved. So, exercise restraint,” he said. “Many people have said it is the same thing the NPP said when they came into power in 2017. And that is why Ghanaians have voted them out. We must not copy the mistakes that they made.”

He urged NDC supporters to act in an orderly manner to ensure a smooth transition and avoid actions that could undermine the government’s credibility.
