Five-Month-Old Baby Killed Amidst Renewed Bawku Conflict

A five-month-old baby girl has tragically lost her life in Bawku, Upper East Region, after being snatched from her mother and violently smashed on the ground during an attack linked to the ongoing conflict in the area.

According to Citi News, the baby’s mother was returning home from work on Thursday when she was tracked and brutally assaulted by unidentified assailants. The attackers forcibly took her child and committed the horrific act, leaving the community in shock.

The cause of the latest attack remains unclear, but it adds to the growing death toll in the region. Since the conflict flared up again in October 2024, at least 55 people have been killed, including a mother and her two children who were gruesomely murdered last week.
