ECG Announces Planned Maintenance Power Outages Across Multiple Regions

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled maintenance works across several regions on Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 7, 2025, which will lead to temporary power outages in affected areas.

According to ECG, the planned exercise is part of efforts to improve service delivery and enhance the reliability of electricity supply.

The company has issued an apology to customers for the inconvenience the outages may cause.

Tuesday, May 6 – Affected Areas

  • Ashanti Region: Power will be interrupted from 9am to 5pm in Anwomaso, Bebre, Fomesua, Domeabra, Apromase, Krapa, Ejisu, Kokobra, and surrounding communities.
  • Greater Accra Region: Outages are expected between 9am and 5pm in Dodowa town, Forest Hotel, Mensah Bar, Saasabi, Bawaleshi, Oyibi, Teshie Ultimate, Teshie First Junction, Yomo Specs, and nearby areas.
  • Tema Region: Scheduled maintenance from 9am to 3pm will affect Man Trucks, Compu Ghana, Ataa Adama, Latter Day Saints, Methodist Junction, Kpoo Keke, Best Western Premier Hotel, and surrounding locations.

Wednesday, May 7 – Affected Areas

  • Eastern Region: From 9am to 5pm, residents of Adonteng, Konkonuru town, Agyeinanti, Ayim, Adinkrabi, Brekusu, Refresh factory, Regimanuel Estate, Marteyman, and surrounding areas will experience power disruptions.
  • Volta Region: Sogakope Township, Adidome, parts of Akatsi, and sections of Keta and surrounding communities will be affected between 10am and 4pm.
  • Tema Region: Power supply will be interrupted from 9am to 3pm in Lebanon Zone 3, Zenu, Atadeka, Ahorlukope, Sokpoekope, Afrikape, Mataheko, and adjoining areas.

ECG urged affected residents and businesses to take the necessary precautions and plan ahead during the maintenance window. The company emphasised that the work is essential to maintain and improve power reliability in the long term.
