Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, welcomed a delegation led by H.E. Charles Abani, the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Ghana, to his residence this morning.
During the meeting, H.E. Abani conveyed a message of appreciation on behalf of the UN, commending Dr. Bawumia for his significant contributions to Ghana’s peace, democracy, and development.
In his address, H.E. Abani specifically praised Dr. Bawumia for his visionary leadership and initiatives that have driven the digital economic transformation of Ghana.
He also acknowledged Dr. Bawumia’s early concession in the 2024 elections as a demonstration of political maturity and commitment to the nation’s stability.
In response, Dr. Bawumia expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasised his firm belief that national interest should always take precedence over personal ambition in politics.
He reiterated his unwavering commitment to the progress and development of Ghana, highlighting the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders for the continued growth of the country.
Dr. Bawumia concluded by thanking the UN for their kind words and support in advancing Ghana’s development agenda.
