Dr. Ato Forson Vows to Help Mahama Become Ghana’s Most Successful President

Newly sworn-in Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has pledged his full dedication to ensuring President John Dramani Mahama emerges as the most accomplished leader in Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 22, Dr. Forson expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed the commitment of the newly appointed ministers to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.

He assured President Mahama of their collective resolve to address the country’s pressing challenges and restore the economy, energy sector, agriculture, education, and the justice system.

“Mr. President, we have been with you throughout your days in opposition. We have witnessed the misgovernance of the previous administration. Ghanaians deserve better, and we are committed to delivering results that will reflect your vision for the country,” Dr. Forson said.

He emphasised that the ministers would begin working immediately to tackle the nation’s issues, assuring the President and citizens of their dedication to rebuilding the country.

The finance minister highlighted the administration’s goal of fostering economic recovery and sustainable development, stating, “We will serve in such a way as to make you the best president in the Fourth Republic.”

Dr. Forson joins a team of newly sworn-in ministers, including:

  • Dr. Dominic Ayine – Attorney General
  • John Jinapor – Minister for Energy and Green Transition
  • Haruna Iddrisu – Minister for Education
  • Eric Opoku – Minister for Food and Agriculture
  • Governs Kwame Agbodza—Minister for Roads and Highways

The Mahama administration has emphasised its commitment to addressing key national issues while fostering transparency, accountability, and efficient governance.
