Bole-Bamboi MP Appeals for Calm Amid Youth Protests Over Ministerial Nominations

Yusif Sulemana, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole-Bamboi, has called on the youth and residents of his constituency to remain calm and desist from any acts of agitation in his name.

This follows reports of protests involving the burning of car tires at the residence of President John Dramani Mahama’s late father, allegedly in response to Sulemana’s omission from the President’s ministerial nominations.

In a statement released on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Sulemana expressed his unwavering support and loyalty to President Mahama, emphasising his confidence in the President’s wisdom and leadership.

He urged his constituents to back Mahama’s efforts to unite and develop the country under his “reset agenda.”

“I kindly appeal to the youth and people of Bole-Bamboi to remain calm and refrain from any form of agitation in my name,” Sulemana stated. “As a loyal and devoted brother of H.E. John Dramani Mahama and a firm believer in his wisdom and experience, I wholeheartedly support his decisions.”

The MP reassured residents that he remained committed to their welfare and would continue to advocate for their interests, irrespective of his role in the government.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and unity in the constituency, cautioning against any actions that could tarnish its image.

“Please, do not take the law into your own hands or engage in actions that could bring embarrassment to us all,” he added.
