Appointments Committee Begins Vetting of Ministerial Nominees January 23

The Appointments Committee of Parliament will commence the vetting of ministerial nominees selected by President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

The vetting sessions, scheduled to run through Monday, January 27, 2025, will start daily at 8:30 a.m. in Committee Rooms 1, 2, and 3 of the New Administration Block.

In a memorandum addressed to the Dean of the Parliamentary Press Corps, the Director of Media Relations emphasised the need for comprehensive media coverage to enhance transparency throughout the process.

The vetting will evaluate the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and suitability for regional ministerial roles and other key government positions.

This initiative highlights Parliament’s commitment to ensuring accountability and upholding its constitutional mandate in the selection of public officials.
