The Accra High Court has reduced the bail conditions for Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), from GHS120 million to GHS80 million.
However, his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, will still have to meet the initial GHS80 million bail requirement, with two sureties to be justified.
As part of their bail conditions, the couple must report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) three times a week and can only travel with EOCO’s express permission.

Adu-Boahene and his wife were detained following an EOCO investigation into allegations of embezzlement, fraud, and illicit financial transactions during his tenure as NSB Director-General from 2017 to February 2025. He is accused of diverting millions of Ghanaian cedis from state funds for personal gain.
Speaking to the media, the couple’s legal counsel, Samuel Atta Akyea, welcomed the revised bail conditions and expressed confidence in their ability to meet the new terms.
The case has drawn significant public attention as EOCO’s investigation continues to unravel the extent of the alleged financial misappropriation.
