Accra Gears Up to Host Landmark Pan-African Tech and Marketing Conferences in August

From August 20 to 22, 2025, the city of Accra will play host to two of Africa’s most important professional gatherings—the African Marketing Confederation (AMC) Conference and the Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) Conference—both set to take place at the luxurious Labadi Beach Hotel.

The twin conferences aim to provide a high-level platform for over 500 delegates from 35 African countries to explore how marketing, technology, and innovation are shaping Africa’s future across multiple industries.

Speaking at the official launch on May 15, key organisers and dignitaries shared insights into the goals and significance of the upcoming events.

David Gowu, President of TICON Africa, highlighted the urgency of the moment:

“Africa is moving quickly in the digital space. The 2025 TICON Africa Conference will empower delegates with insights, tools, and strategies to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive global economy.”

The conferences will centre around two major themes:

  • AMC Conference: “Thriving in Africa’s Evolving Markets: Trust, Trends, and Technology”
  • TICON Africa Conference: “Empowering Africa’s Tech Future: Innovation, Standards, and Global Influence”

Together, they aim to bridge the divide between marketing and ICT, driving innovation-led business growth and economic resilience.

The launch event featured notable figures, including:

  • Dr Jannie Zaaiman, Secretary General, TICON Africa
  • Mr Richard Kafui Amanfu, Executive Director, IIPGH
  • Kwabena Agyekum, Registrar/CEO, CIMG
  • Ama Amoah, Vice President, CIMG
  • Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson, University of Ghana Business School
  • Mr Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, Deputy CEO, Ghana Tourism Authority

Several African countries also participated virtually, underlining the event’s continental appeal.

Major corporate and tech brands have come onboard, including Npontu Technologies, Delbond Technologies, and Caveman Watches, with support from Tekconnect and the Ghana Fintech and Payment Association.

The conferences promise more than just technical discussions. Delegates will enjoy curated cultural events, including a Ghanaian cultural evening and a beachside barbecue—a perfect blend of business networking and authentic local experience.

Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, emphasised Ghana’s role as a destination:

“This is more than a conference; it’s an invitation to experience Ghana’s culture, hospitality, and innovation. Our goal is to make Ghana Africa’s number one tourism destination.”

Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson underscored the value of this multidisciplinary event:

“This is the time to unite marketing and IT. Our competitiveness as a nation and continent lies in how well we tell our story and deploy technology to scale it.”

With preparations in full swing, expectations are high. Organisers are optimistic the event will spark cross-border collaboration, help shape Africa’s digital and economic agenda, and leave a lasting impact on all who attend.

The conferences were officially declared launched by Mr. Richard Kafui Amanfu, CEO of the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH), who expressed confidence in the transformative potential of the gathering.

“We’re not just discussing Africa’s future—we’re building it, right here in Accra,” he said.
