Mahama emphasised that Bawumia’s gesture was instrumental in upholding Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.

“In times of political contest, it is easy for tempers to flare, but your decision to concede swiftly helped guide us through a critical period in Ghana’s democratic journey,” he noted, expressing gratitude for Bawumia’s exemplary leadership.

The President used the opportunity to call on all political leaders to emulate such conduct, urging them to place national interest above personal or partisan ambitions.

“Dr. Bawumia’s actions remind us all of the importance of prioritising the collective good of our country. May Ghana’s democracy remain a shining example for the world,” Mahama added.
