‘God has a plan for me for greater and better things in the future’- Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called on Ghanaians to embrace hope and gratitude as the nation steps into 2025, emphasising faith in God’s plans for a brighter future.

Speaking at the 31st Watch Night service hosted by the Lighthouse Chapel International, Dr. Bawumia expressed his heartfelt thanks to God for the peaceful conclusion of the December 2024 elections.

He attended the service alongside his wife, Samira Bawumia, NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim, and other senior members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Reflecting on the importance of thanksgiving, Dr. Bawumia quoted Thessalonians 5:18, saying, “In all things, give thanks to God. I have an abiding faith in the Lord, and for what He has done for us, we give Him thanks.”

The Vice President, who also serves as the NPP’s flagbearer, lauded Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, the host of the service, describing him as “an amazing man of God” and commending his contributions to the church and the nation. “Bishop Dag is truly blessed, and we thank God for his life,” he said.

Dr. Bawumia also shared his personal reflections on his journey and aspirations, expressing confidence in God’s purpose for him. “I know and believe that God has a plan for me for greater and better things in the future,” he stated.

He ended his message by extending warm New Year wishes to all Ghanaians. “From my wife and me, we wish you a Happy New Year. God bless Lighthouse Chapel, and God bless Bishop Dag,” he said.

The Vice President’s message centred on faith, unity, and optimism, inspiring the congregation and the nation to approach the new year with renewed hope and gratitude.
