Fatal Crash Involving School Bus and Tipper Truck at Dzorwulu
A loaded tipper truck has reportedly been involved in a fatal road crash with a school bus carrying about 11 lower primary pupils on the Dzorwulu–Accra Mall stretch, prompting an emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed that its firefighters are responding to a fatal road traffic accident involving a loaded tipper truck and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter school bus transporting approximately 11 lower primary school children.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, Alex King Nartey, the accident occurred on the Dzorwulu to Accra Mall stretch.
Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and are currently conducting an assessment while working to manage the emergency.
Details regarding casualties, injuries and the cause of the crash have not yet been officially confirmed.
The GNFS says further information will be provided as rescue operations and assessments continue.
Authorities are expected to commence investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
