Cyber Security Authority to Open Kumasi Office in 2027 – Sam George

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has announced plans to establish a physical office of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) in Kumasi to strengthen cybersecurity support in the middle belt of Ghana.

Mr George said the office was expected to become fully operational early next year, following assistance from Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene in securing office space for the authority.

Speaking after paying a courtesy call on Dr Amoakohene at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, the minister expressed appreciation to the regional administration for facilitating the arrangement.

“We wrote to him asking for office space because we want to open an office for the Cyber Security Authority here. He’s been gracious to facilitate that for us,” Mr George said.

He explained that the Kumasi office would serve beyond the Ashanti Region, coordinating cybersecurity activities across the middle belt, including the Bono East and Ahafo regions.

“The Kumasi office is not just going to be for the Ashanti Region. It’s going to be for the entire Middle Belt. Ashanti, Bono East, and Ahafo regions will be coordinated out of here,” he said.

The minister said the establishment of the office would extend the authority’s physical presence beyond Accra and support the work of its existing team.

The announcement formed part of Mr George’s working tour of the Ashanti Region, during which he is inspecting telecommunications infrastructure and One Million Coders Programme centres.

The tour is also intended to help the ministry assess ongoing projects, identify gaps in service delivery and determine the interventions needed to strengthen Ghana’s digital infrastructure and resilience.
